Phosphor-based displays (including CRT televisions), when not used properly, can develop image retention. Pioneer's expertise in professional display technology has allowed us to develop unique features for managing image retention.

Orbiting is one of the most useful tools to reduce the appearance of image retention that is typically used by flat panel displays. Conventional orbiter modes reduce image retention by moving the displayed image by one pixel at regular intervals. However, this movement is visually detectable, disturbing smooth picture quality. Pioneer's exclusive Seamless Orbiter mode moves the entire image in smaller steps, less than a pixel at a time. Our extensive research qualified this mode as the best image-orbiting pattern to virtually eliminate noticeable movement.

Our displays include other image retention alleviation modes engineered specifically to meet your changing display needs, including:

• Automatic Side Masking -- for varying screen ratios
• Side Mask Brightness Adjustment -- for 4:3 image display
• White Signal Display -- over entire screen if necessary
• Screen Reversal Display -- reverses colors to help manage image retention
